Every music lover likes to have his own playlists to suit his or her mood. Creating music playlists can take a while sometime, along with a good deal of effort. The new iOS app Playlista, developed by Mobappalula, brings you a simple way to create your playlists and listen to them along with friends. It is compatible with iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone and requires iOS 5.0 or later.

The basic working of this app is like that of a jukebox. You just have to connect your iOS device to a set of speakers, create a playlist as a host with Playlista and then share it with your friends, who can add songs to it too. It works with both Bluetooth and WiFi so that in the alternative of not being able to connect to the internet, you can still make use of it.

On first launch, you will see the name of your iOS device and two options of ‘Join Playlista’ or ‘Host Playlista’. On the top corner, there are icons for History and for Settings. In the Settings tab, you can log on to Twitter or Facebook, turn the ‘Last Added Song’ off or on, manage the songs you share as a host and also view your credits. Under History, you can view your Saved Playlists and Added Songs.

On the main user interface, when you select ‘Host Playlista’, you see four buttons namely Discover, Upcoming, Played and On Air. On the top right corner, there is an icon to add songs. Adding songs on to your playlists is easy. You just have to click on the icon, following which you will be taken to iTunes, from where you are allowed to view your own music by songs, albums, artists, playlists or other options. To add a song, you have to only click on it and select ‘Send’ option. This will add it to your Playlista playlist.

If you sign up for Playlista under the ‘Join’ option, where you simply join while someone else hosts, you are allowed to do quite the same, the only difference being that the songs is sent to the iOS device of the Host through Bluetooth or WiFi. If you are a host, then it is advisable to set your device to the airplane mode and then switch on your Bluetooth or WiFi, lest your playlist may be interrupted by your phone calls.

Playlista app saw its release in mid-December, 2012. It is available in English, German, French, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Russian. It has an attractive yet simple user interface without any clutter. It is an app suited for get-togethers and parties and times of fun with friends. You can share music with friends to create amazing playlists and listen to them with this app. You not only introduce yourself to new music but let the party crowd add music of their own choice to the playlist. The app is free of cost and does not need you to subscribe. It works on your present music library, thus saving you the trouble of signing up.

Good: Creating playlists with friends made easy
