As a blogger, you might be thinking about that your spam comment area is increasing at a very rapid rate, whereas the real comments are not comparable. This is because internet is full of spam and waste stuff, autobots are filling the internet directory with crap.

Whenever I log in to my dashboard, I see 20-30 spam comments daily and it’s not an interesting job to empty your spambox again and again. So for sorting out this problem, I have tried many plugins to stop spam but nothing works.

But then I come across a plugin named as GrowMap Anti-Spambot Plugin. It is really an amazing plugin and works very smoothly and silently. This single plugin can solve all the problem of spams. You don’t need to install the combination of akismet and any captcha plugin.

About the author of GASP

This plugin is coded by the Andy Bailey from CommentLuv. GASP works by requiring those that wish to leave a comment, to check a checkbox before submitting the comment. Just a simple checkbox and no hard submission of captcha is involved.

How it works?

This plugin is intelligently written, i.e. since many of the spam comments are created by bots, the bots are usually programmed to fill all the fields on a form with specific information. This plugin creates a hidden field that can’t be seen by normal visitors. A bot can see this hidden field. If this hidden field is filled, it directly indicates that the commentator is spammer and it will be discarded.

Plus Points of GASP

  • Your favorite readers will be able to comment easily by just checking a single box.
  • No usage of captcha anymore.
  • Works by simple activation, no hard configurations.
  • Compatible with majority of WordPress themes.

Thank you Rajan for writing his post about the new anti-spambot plugin. It has saved me tons of time and every day I hear from another blogger who is rolling it out across all their blogs.

There is additional information on the page I’ll link to this comment.

Akismet has major problems. First, it lets a ton of botspam through that fills up your spam folder and second it puts some of the very highest quality commentators comments into that same spam folder.

What ends up happening is that you either waste a ton of time moderating what ends up in spam OR bloggers just delete it all – the real comments along with the spam.

As soon as your comments end up being deleted regularly by Akismet, your regular commentators stop reading your blog because you delete their comments, or you have to spend hours on end slogging through the spam folder to rescue them you’ll know why this plugin is far better than Akismet for everyone.
