Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is one of the many existing processes that are employed by individuals and organizations to increase the visibility of their websites or web pages. This is done in search engines through paid search results or unpaid.

SEO is also considered to be one of the most frequently used internet marketing strategies, though not the most effective. It considers the preferred search engines, how they work, what the target audience search for and the actual words used in them.

SEO was initially developed by Webmasters (SEO professionals today) to solve the problem of “keyword stuffing” which came about when keywords were hidden behind images to manipulate the search engines. This complicated the initially simple procedure that only required one to put the keyword in the title and freely mention it in the site content.

But the question is, when do need SEO? Do you need it to create a search engine, to look through a search engine or to utilize the services in a search engine?

As a marketing plan for a website, business owners should consider exploring SEO before their sites are fully developed. The challenge they may encounter is that site developers are generally not good optimizers because its not what they specialize in. In order to save the business owner hard earned dollars, the business owner should build a site from the ground ensuring that the site is search engine friendly and SEO ready. This will also ensure that your site operates at full capacity, is not a waste of resources and starts you in the best position.

There are several ways to improve your SEO, but we will only discuss three in this article.

  • The first is using the electromagnetic nature of your SEO to attract users by creating keyword-rich pages. Its applicability is based on the concept that iron nails have a stronger attraction and attachment to magnets that aluminum nails. Your audience will be more attracted to content that is of quality, that engages and that persuades. The wire that runs in the electromagnet is like the blog posts.
  • The second is to add blogs to your site as they attract search engine traffic. The blog allows visitors to ask questions and leave comments thereby increasing the size of your website over time. This will give a huge SEO advantage in the form of increase in website authority and larger number of pages.
  • The third is using long tail keywords. They are a great way of getting traffic but their nature makes them almost difficult to research. On a website, using short tail traffic will surely generate longer-tail traffic, and will cause an increase in traffic as the short-tail terms goes up in search engine rankings.

Understanding SEO has now been made easy by SEO itself! Applying the knowledge within the concept of search engine optimization, gives both users and business owners an opportunity to maximize their visibility on the web and the knowledge to do so.
