Starific is the latest iOS app that has been developed by Alex Gierczyk. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 5.1.1 or any later version of the OS.
Starific is a very unique game as far as its gameplay is concerned. This cosmic action based gameplay centers around a star that when activated starts on a zigzag motion hitting objects here and there. Your job is to keep its motion limited to an octagonal grid and not let it pass to the outside world. You have to keep moving the paddle on the boundary of the octagon so as to reflect back the star inside. The position of your paddle determines the direction the star would follow and therefore every time, it’s unpredictable what next position you can possibly take to encounter the star. Starific is terrific graphically and full of glittery colors. It’s literally like a carnival or a supernatural phenomenon like a supernova happening here. There are sparks all around and you’re witnessing a sight of a festival that’s never going to get over. There is so much happening in the game that the star almost fades away amidst the brightness of the rest. It’s very easy to ignore and therefore you have to keep your mind concentrated during the whole game. If you take your eyes off even for a second, you’ll lose it.
Each game of Starific is unique and gives you a challenge that you’ve never faced before and you never will. The arrangement of blocks and power ups inside the octagon is different for each level and therefore the path followed by the star is different every time. This makes Starific even more interesting as you never know what’s going to happen next. The speed of the star is fast enough to bamboozle you but thanks to the many power ups, you might be able to hold on the pressure.
There are many variations in Starific. There are 4 different gaming modes: Arcade, Moves, Time and Sandbox. While it’s an endless game, the Time mode has you running against the clock and you have to score maximum in the given time limit. If you’re more interested in strategic gameplay than just playing for the sake of points, then Moves is the right mode for you. There are different grid sizes and more than 80 items to unlock. There are special “spin the wheel” rounds where you get to win free rewards and prizes. So once you’re a part of this game, you’re going on a long ride of fun and entertainment.
