There have been so many chatting apps nowadays in the market that it’s difficult to decide which one is the best for you. Back in the time, there were only a handful of features and chatting was limited to texting and that as well in a professional way. Then as the writing style became informal, more developers came into the scene and have helped the present scene of chat applications to reach a new level. Now you can share images, videos and applications have turned into a platform as big as a website. But the scope of creativity is always there and we have just another addition to this large pool of chatting applications. Let’s see if it can survive the strong tides of competition or will it sink down to death!

I am talking about the latest iOS app called Emu that has been developed by one of the senior developers of Siri itself. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 7.0 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5.

Emu is a smart chatting tool which allows you to share your live location, book restaurants and movie tickets, lets you snooze messages for later, checks schedules for you and much more. It is lot more than just texting. Suppose you’re late for an event and someone asks you for your location. Mostly you tell them to wait for so and so minutes and you’ll be there. Instead, you can send them your live location so that they get a trusted answer and stop worrying for you.

When I said that Emu is a ‘smart’ chatting tool, I meant it. It reads your chats and therefore automatically sends the corresponding schedule. For example, if you’re planning to meet at a restaurant, it’ll show you the calendar so that you can decide the time and if you have a restaurant in mind, then it’ll show you its reviews and availability as well. Isn’t it amazing!

There is an option to snooze messages for sometime later. If you want some reminder or a message to be delivered when you leave or reach a certain location, Emu can do it for you. All you have to do is select the location and that’s it. Sending voice messages by holding the record button is not a new feature but it’s nice to have it in the package.

Emu is sure to save you ample time which otherwise would be wasted in checking the schedules and availability in the restaurants. The user friendly and a cool design make sure that this app will soon be the trend of the world.

It’s available for free in the App Store and in case I forgot to tell you, it also allows texting!

Pros: intuitive UI; snooze messages; set reminders; share live location; book restaurants from within the app; checks calendar for you; free.

Cons: none.
