It’s a world full of surprises! Every place has its own definition, its own soul and its own secrets that are unrevealed to the eye of the universe. If you want to feel that soul and listen to those untold stories, you actually have to visit the places in person. But life is too short. When you’re so busy finding your right place in the world, it becomes almost an impossible task to find some spare time for such activities. But if life’s so short, so has become the world. It’s rightly said that your world is in your hands and you just have to push a button to unlock any part of the world. So you’ve got your iPhone in your hands and the world is waiting for you to put your finger anywhere on the map. Let’s unlock Italy for today. But where’s the key?

I am talking about the latest iOS app called Grand Tour Project that has been developed by Erica Tonin. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 7.0 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5.

With Grand Tour Project, you get to see all the culturally significant and famous destinations of Italy. You can use this app in both cases i.e. whether you actually visit the places or you’re just sitting at your home. There are video documentaries of all these places shot very beautifully. These videos all have a very high quality and you can choose the resolution as per your device as well. Moreover, they are available in more than many different languages and adding more, there are even subtitles for further assistance. These documentaries have a rich visual content but are high on the informational point of view as well. So they’re more like a tour guide which you’re carrying in your pocket. Right from the history of the particular monument, they cover all the aspects. So they’re equally beneficial for curious students and travellers as well.

All the videos are very well sorted out under different labels. So suppose you’re about to visit a city in Italy. Check out the various points of interest in the app for that city and then you can view the videos of the places you like. As I told you already, the quality of videos plays a big role. You can play them on your iPhone or iPad and the view is optimized for the corresponding display.

Overall, this app serves a great deal of purpose for the viewers. Even if you’re at your home watching these videos, it’s like a journey through the heartland of Italy. You can almost smell the electric atmosphere. You’re just a step away from actually being a part of it and after watching each video, you’ll certainly want to step into your shoes and go and visit those places right then.

The app is available for free in the App Store. However, many of the videos are paid. So what are you waiting for!

Pros: intuitive UI; high quality videos; customizable resolutions; multi-lingual videos; subtitles compatible; free videos.

Cons: none.
