If you are using a Samsung Android device, and like to try your hand at painting people, objects, or just about anything, but have been wondering how you can share your newly found talent with others easily, as ell as see what other amateurs, or professionals are doing, then Paintrala could offer the perfect outlet to showcase your talent, and make some new friends along the way while you’re at it.
Paintrala is a new SNS or Social Networking Service app, which is based exclusively in sharing of paintings that users create on their mobile device. It is similar to Instagram, which you are all no doubt familiar with, with the difference being that Instagram is based on photos and ore-defined filters, whereas Paintrala is based on paintings that you create yourself. Paintrala not only gives you an opportunity to share your own paintings with othe like-minded people, but also lets you see what other talented folks are posting. Lets call it a Social networking app for paintings and art.
The app presents the user with a simple but elegant layout. Upon launching the app for the first time, you are required to sign up, which is a speedy process. Once you sign up and are logged in, you can browse through paintings submitted by other people from all over the world. Much like on Twitter or INstagram, you can follow users, like and comment on paintings submitted by others, as well as share stuff on your Facebook account.
The best part of the app is the painting mode which lets you draw and paint literally anything under the sun. You can create something as simple as a doodle, or as complex as a full-fledged portrait, depending on your ability. Alternatively, you can also pick a photo from your gallery and paint over it, to add some excitement to an otherwise bland pic. There are a variety of pre-set painting tools and styles included with the app, and you can try multiple combinations and styles before you decide which one works best for you and gives the best effect.
Once you have created your own painting, and are happy with the end product, you can go ahead and uploaded it to the Paintrala gallery and make it available to everyone else on the Paintrala network to view and appreciate. To add the fun element, there are also contests that are held from time to time, where the painting which wins the most points gets featured on the home page. Who knows, a rich art investor might just get to see and decide it is something worth spending a lot of money over, right? So the possibilities are endless, and you can try your luck right from the palm of your hand without having to invest any capital in expensive art equipment and colours.
Paintrala is a unique and fun app, for both casual artists as well as serious professionals. The only hitch, for the time being, is that the app is only supported on Samsung devices. While it’s not specified as such, I feel Paintrala is an ideal app for the Samsung Galaxy Note line-up of devices which take advantage of the S-Pen feature. As and when more phones from other manufacturers start getting more compatible with S-Pen or stylus-based input, Paintrala is likely to expand its reaches beyond Samsung devices. The app is available for free from the Google Play Store. So if you are artistically inclined, or just want to have some fun with your doodles, you can go ahead and try out this unique app.
